Guangdong’s Top 10 Beautiful Villages Took Investigation in Huilai County

On December 14, 2021, the investigation crew of the 3rd Guangdong’s Top 10 Beautiful Villages had arrived Huilai county for actual investigation. The crew made field research to the candidate villages and experience their beautiful changes. Later the crew evaluated these villages according to the criteria of the 3^rd Guangdong’s Top 10 Beautiful Villages.

Shanli Village, Aojiang Town

In 2018, Guangdong Provincial Overseas Chinese Affairs Office cooperated with TOPEAST Foundation and hired Shing & Partners to create an overall planning for Shanli village. The overall plan consists of one ring, two axis, four areas and eight landscapes. The construction has taken consideration of the needs of the village and preserve the memory of village and inherit its cultures and history.

Kongmei Village, Longjiang Town

Almost every family in Kongmei village knows how to cook delicious Longjiang pork feet. During the early period of reform and opening up, many Longjiang people had moved to cities of Pearl Delta region, they also brought the delicious Longjiang pork feet to there and even greater China.

In recent years, with the assistance from the work teams of South China University of Technology, Kongmei village has built up an agricultural planting base and successfully cultivated Kongmei jasmine rice. The delicious Longjiang pork feet plus the soft and delectable jasmine rice become a very popular cuisine

Xidong Village, Shenquan Town

Xidong village is located three kilometers southeast of Shenquan town. The construction of Shenquan fish harbour near Xidong village was initiated in 2017, with total investment of 272 million yuan. Its water supply infrastructure was completed in April 2020.

The complete of Shenquan fish harbour will significantly improve the regional economy and upgrade Shenquan fish harbour to become national key fish harbour.

Jinghai Town New Rural Landscape Demonstration Belt

Jinghai town is located at the southeast coastal region of Huilai county, Jieyang. In 1394 A.D., the royal court of Ming Dynasty set up local garrison post and gave name of Jinghai, with the meaning of suppressing privates and stabilize the sea domain.

In 2018, Jinghai town follow the strategic planning of Guangdong province to construct new rural demonstration villages. The overall construction covers 1067 acres and benefits 25,166 people in five villages, including Zishen village, Qianwu village, Houshan village, Mogang village and Xishan village.

A glance at Jinghai Town New Rural Landscape Demonstration Belt

The main industries in the demonstration belt are relying on sweet potato, peanut and oceanic fishery. It has a level-three fish harbour, Zishen fish harbour. The demonstration belt will fully discover the ancient culture heritage of Jinghai town and play the card of Guangdong featured characteristics. By constructing five demonstration districts, this demonstration belt will become a beautiful name card of Jinghai town.
