Shenquan Bay

If Huilai is a fish living in the east of Guangdong, Then Shenquan is the eye of the fish swimming in the sea. Shenquan is located in the southeast of Huilai County with a coastline of 14.8 kilometers. Shenquan town is the jurisdiction of Huilai County. It is located in the south of Huilai County. The town used to be a small island, which had been settled in the Tang Dynasty. Because the village was located in front of a temple, it was called Shenqian.

As geography changed, the island became connected to the land. In the Ming Dynasty hongwu years, because there is a beach spring, so changed to god spring. Mazu's birthday falls on March 23 of the lunar calendar every year. On this day, fishermen go to the Mazu temple to worship, and also worship on the fishing boats. Fishermen regard Mazu as the god of sea protection.
